How many drafts does it take to write a book? For me, it starts with a full first draft with no looking back until the story is told. The first edit is slow and deliberate. The second moves with more rhythm. Then comes the developmental editor, a deep revision, a final polish, and proofreaders. By the time it's ready, I’ve read every word 5–6 times. This is why they call it a labor of love, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Had the chance to attend a single day at the Las Vegas Writers Convention this weekend, and it did not disappoint! The sessions were packed with insight, the instructors were top-notch, and the room was filled with a diverse group of writers from all over the country. Huge thanks to the Henderson Writers Group—excited to officially be a member!

Happy Monday! My planner really set the tone for the week with this gem: ‘When you make lots of bad decisions, people will celebrate the good ones.’ Not exactly the sage wisdom I was hoping for, but I guess there’s a silver lining in everything! Here’s to making more celebration-worthy choices this week. Let’s do this!
