Sometimes cyclists can be their own worst enemy.
It's one of the few 'sports' where the field of play is not dedicated to the athlete. We share our field of play with other users and the majority of the other users and bigger, heavier and moving faster than we are.
As a cyclists it's your responsibility to ride defensively and safely with the expectation that no one sees you. You must conform to all the rules the other road users do. That means stopping at STOP signs and obviously stopping at RED lights. Especially if you're riding in a group because you are not only responsible for your own safety but that of the other riders with you too.
Lead by example and other road users will respect you.
