Thinking about becoming a nurse? Your degree choice could impact where you're eligible to work.
A BSN can cost you a huge investment, which is why it's important to understand how employers view nursing degrees.
Many Magnet-recognized hospitals prefer—or even require—new nurses to have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). While an ADN can get you licensed and working as an RN, some hospitals may expect you to earn your BSN within a certain timeframe after hire.
💡 Before choosing a nursing program, ask yourself:
✅ What is the total cost?
✅ What is the NCLEX pass rate?
✅ What are the graduation rates?
✅ What hospitals recruit from this program?
✅ Will I eventually need a BSN for my career goals?
The "cheapest" path isn't always the best fit, and the most expensive program doesn't automatically lead to better opportunities. Understanding your options now can save you time, money, and stress later.
