Xtreme Robotics Summer Camp has officially come to a close!

Three weeks of building robots, flying drones, learning to code, solving engineering challenges, and making memories have flown by. As is tradition, we wrapped up another amazing summer with plenty of fun, laughter, and pizza.

The Xtreme Robotics Club would like to give a huge thank you to Alyssa Cigarroa for generously donating enough pizza to feed a small army! Her support helped provide lunch for all three camps hosted by the Sabas Perez Early College High School at Cigarroa High School: the Robotics Camp, Advanced Robotics Camp, and Drone Camp.

Most importantly, thank you to all of our Xtreme Robotics members who gave up three weeks of their summer vacation to mentor, teach, and inspire the next generation of engineers. Your dedication, patience, and passion are what make this program special.

All good things must come to an end, but the impact made on these students will last far beyond the summer.

Thank you, Cris Luna, for stopping by Xtreme Robotics Camp!

Cris, a two-time UIL Robotics State Champion and current student at the prestigious Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, took time out of his summer to speak with our students about the realities of the engineering world and what it takes to succeed.

Our campers had the opportunity to hear firsthand about the challenges, opportunities, and rewards that come with pursuing a career in engineering. Experiences like these inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

We are incredibly grateful for Cris’s willingness to give back and mentor those following in his footsteps.

Once an Xtreme Robotics member, always an Xtreme Robotics member. We’re proud to see our alumni achieving great things while never forgetting where they came from and always reaching back to help the next generation rise.

Even in the offseason, the Xtreme Robotics Team is already preparing for next season!

Sophomore Tomas “The Train” is working alongside incoming freshmen Alezzandra and Caleb, putting in the work and passing down valuable knowledge to the next generation of robotics students. Using their brand-new toy—a state-of-the-art xTool laser cutter generously provided by our school and Dr. Lopez—they are already designing and building a new chassis for next year’s robot.

This is exactly what makes our program special: experienced upperclassmen mentoring younger students, sharing skills, and building a foundation for future success. The robots may change every season, but the tradition of teamwork, leadership, and innovation continues year after year.

Great job, Tomas, Alexandra, and Caleb! The future of Xtreme Robotics is looking bright, and it’s exciting to see our students already hard at work preparing for another championship run. 🚂🤖🔥
