Greetings!
A huge benefit to homeschooling children is the ability to teach them the truth. For decades in public and private schools, students have been indoctrinated with the falsehood of Christopher Columbus and his “discovery” of “America”.
Growing up many children have been made to celebrate a man and colonialist who wrecked havoc on the Indigenous People who were already on this land.
Take advantage of this day and teach your children about the Indigenous (Native) People of what is now called America.
INDIGENOUS /inˈdijənəs/: “originating or occurring naturally in a particular place; native.”
Greetings: Many may know “Hau” pronounced “How” as a Native greeting. We learned this most likely through Hollywood’s depiction of “Indian” people.
Interesting Fact: It’s said that the label “Indian” came from Columbus believing he had reached the Indian Ocean when he came across “America” and labeled the people “Indian”.
There are several tribes of Native people and they have different tribal languages. Here are a few ways to greet:
“Hau” - Dakota and Lakota Sioux
“Buzhu” - Objiwa Chippewa
“Apaa” - Yupik Eskimo
“Ya'at'eeh” - Dene Navajo
“O’-Si-Yo’” - Cherokee
“Halito” - Choctaw
This is a great lesson to teach especially to younger children. In addition, learn the different customs of each tribe! Their spiritual practices. Learn about their dress, their dance, their chants and their food.
Do not neglect to teach about colonial warfare against the Native people and how they used blankets infected with smallpox as biological warfare in addition to brutal methods.
Lastly, Thanksgiving is coming up and there is history in regards to this holiday that will make you cringe.
Take advantage of your children being home and give them the truth in history.

Today is the 124th Birth Anniversary of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Homeschool and a parent’s right (especially Black parents) to chose the right education for their children was actually illegal. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Members of The Nation of Islam were among those who fought against these laws that denied parents the right to educate their own children.
“Mr. Muhammad helped establish schools for the proper education of his children and the community. Indeed, the Muslim parents felt that the educational system of the State of Michigan was wholely inadequate for their children, and they established their own schools. By 1934, the Michigan State Board of Education disagreed with the Muslim's right to pursue their own educational agenda, and the Muslim Teachers and Temple Secretary were jailed on the false charge of contributing to the delinquency of minors. Mr Muhammad said he committed himself to jail after learning what had happened.
Ultimately, the charges were later dropped, and the officials were freed and Mr. Muhammad received six months' probation to take the Muslim children out of the Islamic school and put them under white Christian teachers. "This I did not do," he said.” [NOI.ORG]
Today there are numerous Muhammad University Of Islam Schools throughout the U.S.! We also have the right to homeschool because of people like The Honorable Elijah Muhammad!
