Parents and students please be sure to have reread the following information. This is the waiver, code of conduct and dress code policy. You agreed to the guidelines when registering but this is a reminder in case you missed something. Thank you all for your cooperation and we are looking forward to another great dance!
Remember: Doors open at 5:30 for check in, dinner at 6:30.
I am attending a homeschool dance at The Shed event venue in Wanatah, IN on October 10, 2025 from 5:30pm CST to 10pm CST.
Waiver and code of conduct:
I understand that students are expected to remain inside the designated areas for the duration of the dance unless they are leaving with their parent/guardian or independently driving. A chaperone must accompany a student who temporarily needs to go out to their vehicle or who needs fresh air. Exception: The dessert bar is outdoors in a separate space but students are expected to either gather in the dessert bar space or return to the indoor dance area.
I understand that students will not be allowed to wander the building/property/parking areas.
The outdoor patio will be accessible if the weather is unseasonably warm and nice. The students will be notified if the patio will be open.
I understand that couples will be expected to maintain appropriate conduct and minimal public display of affection.
I understand that my payment is non-refundable for any reason unless the event is canceled.
I will not sell, purchase, possess, or be under the influence of drugs/alcohol. I agree that this is a no smoking/vaping event. Failing to comply will result in removal from the event, and/or legal action. I agree to stay on the immediate premises and not loiter in the parking lot or wander off the property.
I understand that any inappropriate conduct is strongly discouraged, and that adult chaperones will be present at all times. I will respect any of the owner's and/or chaperone's additional instructions at the time of the event.
I hereby agree to indemnify, save and hold harmless Jennifer Morris, Charles Morris, Home Grown Hearts Co-op, The Shed Weddings and Events and its respective owners, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any and all losses, expenses, and damages to person or property incurred in connection with the event, including but not limited to the preparation prior to and cleaning up after the event.
Dress code: An XL white T-shirt for a cover up will be offered to anyone whose attire does not follow dress code. Should the T-shirt be declined, the student will not be permitted into the dance, parents will be notified and the student will be asked to leave.
SEMI FORMAL-FORMAL
Traditional fall formal/semi-formal attire is encouraged.
This guideline is not an exhaustive list of everything that can be considered appropriate or inappropriate. We cannot possibly cover all aspects of fashion but we do expect parents and students to be mindful about appropriate attire for a Christian dance.
Here are some BASICS.
Ladies:
*Please wear appropriate length dresses(knee length or longer is recommended), nothing see through or anything that resembles women's lingerie SUCH AS sheath style dresses and obvious corset style dresses that show the boning and accenctuate the breast area.
*Please wear dresses that appropriately cover the cleavage area. No deep V necklines. (thin mesh used for panels over the cleavage, side or torso are not appropriate.)
*Leg slits should not reveal higher than mid thigh.
*Formal pantsuits are an option but the neckline must follow the same guideline as the dresses.
Gents: A tux or dress pants with a dress shirt, tie and jacket. Jacket is optional if it is not a tux.
If a gentelman removes his dress shirt due to overheating he must be wearing an appropriate t-shirt underneath. No bare upper(or lower)bodies please!
