Fly 'Em High

In our 35 years we've seen a handful of poles get bent but we've never had poles get folded over like we did today.

Winds were forecast to be in the 70 mph range, unfortunately, in some places in NW Indiana, they overperformed reaching 100+ mph.

This was an unusually strong storm but reinforces why it is a good idea to take your flags down if you can if there is a severe storm risk.

With that being said, poles and property can be replaced, we more importantly hope everyone made it through the storm today and are safe. 🇺🇸

In November of last year, the New York Blower Company in LaPorte held a grand opening for their newly built office building and greenspace/park.

A 25' flagpole was installed as a part of that new construction (not by us) and although it was a beautiful pole, it was a bit too short and didn't fit in as well as it should've with the new building.

New York Blower contacted us to inquire whether the 25' pole could be moved and a larger pole installed in its place. We advised it could and offered up the largest pole the existing sleeve could accept back.

A few weeks ago, we removed the 25' bronze anodized pole and reinstalled it in the park area with a 5' x 8' American Flag. New York Blower then installed a monument honoring our Veterans in front of that pole, an awesome touch.

We then installed a very large ECA30' bronze anodized pole with a 6" butt where the 25' had been and outfitted it with a 6' x 10' American Flag.

And we might be biased, but we believe there is nothing better than a magnificent flagpole, or in this case two magnificent flagpoles, flying large American Flags, standing out as focal points and enhancing this beautiful addition to the community of LaPorte, they look amazing as does the area as a whole!! 🇺🇸

Jerry had a sectional pole that was damaged and repaired many times. One of the bigger storms earlier this year finally provided the knock out blow, so we replaced it with this nice 20' satin aluminum.

We outfitted the pole with a 3' x 5' American Flag and a 3' x 5' Purdue Flag. Now as an IU grad, it pained me to install that second flag but the customer gets what the customer wants.

In all seriousness, the pole and the flags look great and the pole will stand the test of time and the weather unlike the previous one. 🇺🇸

Thank you to the Porter County Fair for choosing Fly 'Em High for their new flagpole.

We installed this 35' satin aluminum flagpole near the grandstands and outfitted it with a 6' x 10' American Flag (after the fair this year, the crooked telephone pole with lights will be moved and this pole will be wide open the fly the preferred 8' x 12' American Flag.)

Unlike the existing pole in the grandstand area, this pole will be in front of the fans and right of the stage, which will provide a great addition to the concert atmosphere this year and in the years to follow. (Max McNown, Bailey Zimmerman, Cain, Trace Adkins and Flo Rida)

In addition, we serviced (3) of their other flagpoles as well. We installed a new sidemount pulley and a 5' x 8' America 250 Flag at existing grandstand pole and outfitted the 4-H pole and office pole with new halyard, new clips and new flags.

The weather this week looks great! We wish the fair a ton of success and hope all who attend have a wonderful time. 🇺🇸

They both chose to go with the Atlas Series, 25' satin aluminum flagpoles with the 4" butt. These poles are an upgrade from the entry level 3" flagpoles, offering an increase in pole strength and aesthetically giving the pole more of a presence.

This is the increasingly popular Atlas Series 25' satin aluminum. This pole has a bigger diameter butt (4") which gives it a bigger looking "presence" and it also increases the flagpoles strength.
