Can you over-tighten a carrier? Yes. It's just way rarer than you think.

Here's what actually trips people up with a buckle carrier: they crank down the middle panel and leave the bottom too loose. The the straps aren't rotating far enough, so baby is bunched at the top and unsupported at the bottom. It feels tight. It isn't working.

And stretchy wraps are their own conversation entirely. Two-way stretch, four-way stretch. Different brands behave completely differently on the same body. You can put on the exact same style wrap twice and get two totally different fits depending on which direction you're pulling.

That's just how these carriers work.

The swimsuit tight rule is your starting point. But where you tighten, how you tighten, and which direction your fabric actually moves, that's where it gets specific to your body and your wrap.
