The Book & Bee Hi there! We are a Christian Early Education learning pod. Take a peek! Our approach fosters a sense of wonder and stewardship.

The "BOOK" -We believe God's Word is reliable truth and through Jesus Christ, we can be reconciled with Him. We prioritize teaching young children literacy, Bible memory, and a love for nature to cultivate a love for God's Word. We teach phonemic awareness, phonics, and literacy, aiming to build a foundation for lifelong reading success and academic achievement. The "BEE"-We teach children to appreciate God's intelligent design by exploring nature and using an immersive curriculum based on the seven days of creation. We model social and self-help skills so children can contribute to their families and community. Due to our small class size we can provide individualized time to work on learning goals as well as unique opportunities to experiment with cooking and art.

Today we finished our first science farm unit: “Where does a cookie come from?” 👩‍🍳😃🍪
To learn about each ingredient we planted wheatgrass, drew cows and made butter, learned about vanilla orchids and made vanilla extract, formulated hot cocoa playdough and mixed up fizzy bath salts! Today we mixed up all the ingredient and customized our own cookies. Such a fun and yummy unit! 😋

Day 2: “Hey, Little Ant”.

We learned about the story element: characters.
We put a tasting board outside to see what the ants would eat and the favorite was unsweetened yogurt! We made playdough anthills and talked about how God wants us to think about how others feel- just like the ant in our read-a-loud. 😊🐜

Every year I switch things up quite a bit, but I think the shoebox “food truck festival” will be an annual project. Through this project the kiddos used writing to craft their menu, skip counting by 2’s to price and pay for items and fine motor skills to create their clay food. Watching them buy and sell was so cute and one of my favorite moments this year! They took it quite seriously. 🥰🧁🚚
