📣 PENNSYLVANIA: SPEAK UP BY SEPTEMBER 21, 2026

We oppose proposed Department of Health Regulation 10-242 / IRRC 3490 and encourage you to submit a comment.

The proposal would broaden the language authorizing disease-control measures. It does not impose a mask mandate today, but the Department connects this change to the court decision that struck down its 2021 school mask mandate.

It would authorize health officials to enter schools, apartments, and other buildings as necessary for investigations or contact tracing, without an explicit warrant or consent requirement in those provisions. It would also require schools to allow private student interviews for contact tracing or partner services, without an explicit parental-notification requirement.

We oppose expanding government authority over masking and population-wide stay-at-home orders, and we are concerned about parental rights.

Expands the list of reportable diseases, infections and conditions to address changing standards and recommendations from experts, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
