Yesterday was a day full of celebration at Wharton!

The afternoon began with our kindergarten promotion ceremony as we celebrated our youngest students moving on to 1st grade! Families enjoyed an adorable alphabet poem, fun songs, and the presentation of kindergarten completion certificates as our students proudly shook hands with their teachers and Dr. Welters!

Later in the evening, we celebrated our 5th graders as they closed the chapter on their elementary school years and prepared for their next adventure in middle school. It was a memorable night filled with smiles, laughter, and pride as students received their completion certificates surrounded by family, friends, and staff.

A special thank you to Mr. Jose Iguina, Assistant Principal at Reynolds Middle School, for speaking with our students and families about embracing new beginnings, building connections, and looking forward to the exciting opportunities ahead. We are so proud of all our students and cannot wait to see the amazing things they accomplish in the next phase of their educational journeys! Congratulations to our Kindergarten Graduating Class and our 5th Grade Graduating Class!

Last Friday, Wharton was excited to welcome another *Assistant Principal* for the morning! 😊

“Dr. Mariya” joined Dr. Welters to help check in with students, participate in informational meetings, and experience a glimpse of what it’s like to help lead our school community. She also got to chat and grab a picture with Senator Martin! Thank you, Dr. Mariya, for your enthusiasm & energy!

Wharton families,

Today we held our May PBIS assembly and had a wonderful time celebrating the positive accomplishments of our students and staff.

During the assembly, we recognized our students who demonstrated our May mindset focus of modesty and humility. We also celebrated our staff P.A.W.S. winners and student W.O.O.T. winners for their hard work, leadership, and positive contributions to our school community.

The highlight of the assembly was a special visit from Senator Scott Martin, who visited Wharton to recognize two outstanding students who earned the Good Citizenship Award.

This award honors students who demonstrate leadership qualities that motivate others, volunteer service to the school or community, a strong scholastic record, faithful school attendance, and kindness, dependability, and respect for others. We are proud to congratulate fourth grade student AJ Eberhart and fifth grade student Maya Iyengar as this year’s recipients of the Good Citizenship Award! Congratulations!

Senator Martin spoke to our student body about the importance of kindness and working hard in school. He also took time to recognize and thank the dedicated staff members of Wharton for their commitment to students each day.

We ended the assembly on a fun and energetic note with the entire school dancing along to DJ Raphi’s “Move It. Thank you for your continued support in helping us build a positive and caring school community at Wharton.

Wharton’s annual “Night of the Arts” was truly OUT OF THIS WORLD last night, with star-studded talent shining in every corner of the building! 🌟🎨🎶

Our halls and art room were transformed into galleries filled with creative masterpieces curated by students over the past few months. From colorful paintings to detailed clay creations, our students’ artistic talents were on full display and absolutely impressive!

The evening also featured a boisterous performance of SQUIRM by our first graders, who brought silly critters to life through song, dance, and adorable line delivery. Their energy and enthusiasm had the audience smiling from start to finish!

Closing out the night, Wharton’s Drum Circle and Glee Club wowed the crowd with rousing performances featuring powerful drumming, incredible solos and duets, and impressive choreography.

It was a night filled with creativity, confidence, and joy….a beautiful reminder of how much Wharton loves and celebrates the arts!

*Also to note: THANK YOU to our food trucks & community partners who came out to support the evening: Walk-O-Taco, Splits & Giggles, Lancaster Soft Pretzel, and the Lancaster City Fire Department!

✨🎩 Abracadabra! What a MAGICAL day at Wharton! 🎩✨

Yesterday afternoon, we celebrated our students for reaching their schoolwide PBIS April & May goal of 1,400 points with an ALL SCHOOL assembly featuring an incredible magic show by Magic by Jonathan!

Our students were amazed from start to finish with lots of:
😲 “WOW!”
🤯 “HOW DID HE DO THAT?!”
👏 and nonstop applause!

We even had several student volunteers join the show and help with some of the magic tricks, making the experience even more exciting and memorable!

A HUGE thank you to our PTO for helping contribute funds toward this special reward for our students.

Magic by Jonathan shared how impressed he was with our audience, their behavior, and the warm welcome they gave him today. Way to show your Wharton pride, Wildcats! 🎉
