Lancaster County School District teacher Mary Roberts has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Palmetto State Teachers Association Classroom Grant. This is the fifth year of the PSTA classroom grants created as part of the Reinvesting in Our Members program.

Ms. Roberts is a special education teacher at Indian Land Intermediate School. This grant will supply Ms. Roberts’s classroom with items to aid students in sensory regulation and improve their hands-on learning experience. In a self-contained classroom that teaches across subjects, the needs of her classroom and curriculum are diverse. This funding will help her obtain materials to better reach her students with special needs. PSTA Executive Director Kathy Maness surprised Ms. Roberts at the Lancaster District Convocation on July 28th with the exciting news that her grant was chosen as a winner!
