For five years, the local library has proudly partnered with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to provide free books to young children in our community. More than 1,260 children have benefited from the program, with 558 currently receiving a new book in the mail each month. The growing interest and community support show the value this program brings to local families, but there are still eligible children we have yet to reach. Help us spread the word so every child has the opportunity to build a lifelong love of reading through the joy of books.

🚨 BACK TO SCHOOL — LET’S MAKE IT A SAFE ONE! 🚌

The first day of school for Lampasas ISD is Thursday, August 13th, and we want to remind everyone that getting our students to and from school safely is a community responsibility.

As you head out Thursday morning and throughout the school year:

• 🚗 Be aware of school-zone speed limits and slow down.
• ⏰ Allow extra time for your commute — traffic will increase significantly around our campuses.
• 🏫 If you are dropping off or picking up a student, know and follow the approved traffic plan for that particular campus.
• 👀 Slow down and watch for children, especially around crosswalks, buses, and school entrances.
• 📱 Put the phone down in school zones. If you absolutely need to use your phone, use a hands-free device and keep your attention on the roadway.
• 🚌 Remember that school buses will be back on the roads, making frequent stops.

The Lampasas Police Department and Lampasas ISD are asking everyone to do their part to make sure our students, parents, teachers, and staff have a safe start to the school year.

Our kids. Our community. Our responsibility.

💙❤️ Let’s Drive Safe, Lampasas! ❤️💙
