A pretty headset is low on my priority list when I’m starting a young horse.
I want to spend time teaching them that I have control of their feet and their body.
Once those fundamentals are there, the headset is just the finishing touch.
Focus on their head too soon, and you might have a horse that looks pretty going down the trail but doesn’t want to do much else.
I’d rather build the horse first. We can make him pretty later.
