Hey Cowgirl, a good horse will teach you more about yourself than most people ever could. They have a way of reflecting back the parts of you that you might not want to see; your patience, your fear, your confidence, your insecurities, and the way you handle things when nothing goes according to plan. They don’t care about your words; they feel your energy, your intentions, and the person you are when no one is watching.

The right horse will challenge you, humble you, trust you, and sometimes completely break down the walls you didn’t know you had built. They teach you that leadership isn’t about force, confidence isn’t about never being afraid, and trust has to be earned. In the end, you realize you weren’t just learning how to become a better horseman, you were learning how to become a better version of yourself.

Not all horses get 1% better every day.

Some do.

Some get 25% better and then go a month before making another step up.

Sometimes you have to regress 25% to be 75% better a month from now.

Consistency consistency consistency.

Be consistent and give your horse time to come to you. Every horse is different, so why would you expect the same from each one?

Give yourself and your horse grace. Trust the process.

Sometimes the biggest accomplishments in your life won’t come from one huge breakthrough.

They’ll come from simply staying the course long enough to see what happens.

Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep adjusting. Keep going through the seasons where it feels like nothing is changing.

Most people underestimate what they’re capable of because they overestimate how quickly it should happen.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to feel motivated every day. You just have to refuse to quit.

One day you’ll look around and realize you’re doing things you once thought were completely out of reach—not because the road was easy, but because you stayed on it.

Sometimes the difference between a dream and your reality is simply that you kept going. 🩷

Some enjoy horses that are broke to pool noodle arches but me? I enjoy one with a natural work ethic!
