Today I'd like to talk about failure.

Yesterday I went to a local shop and grabbed up some "lava rock" after requesting basalt to no avail. I've had this idea stirring for years now about a soap for with hints of Hawaii, that would attempt to compliment that indigenous spiritual growth his music holds. Inspired by the solstice I didn't want to wait anymore!

Sadly, in my rush I did not source the best quality gems; they were dyed and have me doubting if they're even volcanic. Compound that with a rushed and distracted creation process (attempting to entertain a less than happy toddler) the end result was not something I'd like to share with the world.

The fragrance doesn't encourage the feelings of warmth I'd hope for, and the general texture of the bar is off due to over heating and over mixing. Of course we are always our own worst critic, but these are certainly lacking in the magic.

And it's because I didn't set the proper setting for the magic to channel through. Next time I'll be more patient, experiment, and truly listen to what this soap wants to be. I failed wonderfully, and I hope I continue to do so, because I learned.

Yeah... I still make soap....paired with awesome songs, gems, and aromas for a BA cleansing shower experience!

This guy right here has Sunstone, Tiger's Eye, and Banded Carnelian with patchouli, frankincense, and grapefruit essential oils. Oatmeal and Shea butter base with cocoa powder should keep the skin hydrated and youthful! Pairs well with "Come back down to Earth" from the Titan A.E. soundtrack. Great for grounding and stepping into your creativity without fear.
