Tomorrow, Thursday, April 23rd, grandparents of preschool to 5th graders are invited to join us for our Spring Recitation and Grandparents Day. If grandparents are not able to attend, families are welcome to invite a special guest! After our Recitation, guests will have the chance to visit student classrooms and attend an optional brunch and tour of ACA's new campus.

ACA's admissions application for the 2026-2027 academic year is open!

* Who needs to apply? New ACA families OR returning families who want to enroll a new child. ACA family siblings who have never enrolled receive priority placement, but they still need to apply.

* How do I apply? New families can learn about the process and find a link to our application portal on our website. Current families submit applications for new students through the Parent Portal homepage.

* Why apply now? To ensure priority enrollment, current families need to submit applications for any new ACA students before January 15th.

* What about current students? Current students do not need to apply. We will send re-enrollment contracts for currently enrolled students on January 15th.

Next Tuesday evening, we will hear from the Grammar School (3rd-5th grade), Logic, and Rhetoric School choirs in a festive Christmas choral concert. Please join us for this performance and some Christmas carol sing-alongs, too! The concert begins at 6:30, with a bake sale before the show. We would love to see you there!

Our annual all-school Exordium is coming up on Tuesday, November 11th from 6:00-7:30 PM!

What is Exordium? Exordium is our all-school evening event during which all students present, by class, a very small sampling of what they've been learning. "Exordium" literally means "the beginning or introductory part, especially of a discourse." The word dates back to ancient rhetoricians, whose exordia were the introductory elements of their speeches.

Sharing and reciting knowledge is an important skill: It requires different mental faculties from writing or reading, typical ways of evaluating learning in the 21st century. A memorized and recited piece is more easily "accessed" in the student's mind than, for example, a string of words encountered in a novel. And learning to speak a poem or a jingle -- with clarity and expression -- is a foundational skill for all public speaking, useful for the student's entire life.

We believe that an education is not merely for the student's use or good, but a gift from God to be stewarded well and shared broadly.

Our annual fall Preschool & Kindergarten Info Nights are coming up on Tuesday, October 28th. The Preschool Open House is from 5:30-6:30 PM and the Kindergarten Info Night is from 6:30-7:30 PM.

This event is for current families as well as prospective families interested in our Kindergarten, Jr. Kinder, Pre-K, and preschool programs. Come to one or both events!

The ACA Theater Club's fall Shakespeare Showcase is THIS Thursday and Friday, October 16th and 17th, at 6:30 PM at the Clements Community Center in Lakewood. Get your tickets now (link in comments)--- you won't want to miss this talented cast of 8th-11th grade Shakespearean actors take the stage, with scenes from Henry V, Hamlet, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Romeo and Juliet, Merchant of Venice, and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
