We are ready to start taking orders for 2022 Bee Packages for April 23th or April 30th pick up. These bee packages are from the same supplier we have been working with for several years now. Beekeepers have been very happy with the quality of the bee packages and local commercial beekeepers who buy about 300 a year from us.
The bee packages contain three pounds of caged worker bees and a caged mated Italian Hybrid queen.

Recovering at home.
Hi All, we finished the bee pick up Saturday May 2nd, Sunday May 3rd I started showing signs of being sick. Monday May 4th it got worse and by Tuesday May 5th at 6 pm I was asking my son Luke to call an ambulance that took me to St Anthony's Medical Center Lakewood. Tuesday night I was sedated and put on life support for respiratory failure in the ICU.
I want to thank the health care workers who made it possible for me to come home today. They truly saved my life. I will be recovering at home for an undetermined amount of time while my body and lungs heal. This was not Covid-19 event but life threatening just the same.

Hi all you beekeepers, I want to thank everyone who picked bee packages the last two Saturdays. With Covid restrictions this was a very stressful bee pick up for us. It went better than expected everyone was happy and treated our volunteers very well. I hope everyone stays healthy during this epidemic. Already looking forward to next year.

Dakota Bees will continue to serve are beekeeping community and farm feed customers with safe curbside side pickup. I hope we are making a difference to keep customers, Luke and me safe during these trying times.

1172 bee packages were picked up the with no problems. Three bee packages picked up by one person that caused us problems. They parked in front of our exit only do not enter sign and two people exited their vehicle and we asked how we can help you. The man held up three fingers to indicate he is picking three bee packages. Luke asked them to return to their vehicle and drive around the building and enter from the west side they did. Then I observed a grey truck speeding down the ally, and I was concerned about the speeding it looked like ramming speed. Thank god only one person was picking up bees at the time. They did slow down and stopped at the check in table. Then they both excited the truck with no face masks and started berating the staff. Telling us we were rude to them. We said we were sorry, but they did not care. Then said they would not shop with us anymore. They called Luke a Hi**er N**i. Our staff believed he was intoxicated which would explain his behavior.

Sad day for a man
Today was sad day for a man named Dave his van has been parked near our business. The building owners had it towed today he was sleeping inside the van. He removed some of his property then his van was towed. My son and I gave him $60 to help him out a little. He lost his job due to corana. Then lost the place he was staying. The van wont start. My son said I imagine how he feels. I wish the world to him. He was still near by as I did see him as I left to go home.

I fear that there is more of this coming with the restrictions I have worked from home for over a month. When you see it impact someone who has no where else to turn. I can only imagine their pain. When I left work I was sad for him just sitting there with nowhere to go. When we do not see it. It goes unnoticed. I am still sad but I can only do so much at the time. I am still thinking about this man and worried for him.
