🎲 Learning through PLAY today with Squishy Land! 💕🌱

We worked on rhyming, syllables, suffixes, and reading practice without it ever feeling like “work.” 📚✨

And those go back and skip ahead cards? They gave us a little lesson too — sometimes you move forward, sometimes you have to go back, and that’s okay! It’s all part of the game, and most importantly, it’s all for FUN! 🥰

So much learning can happen when kids are laughing, playing, talking, and enjoying time together. 💚

Monday Learning 💚📚

Today we added a little more choice and ownership into our learning! The kids can now choose between IXL or worksheets for some of their lessons—because some kids love working on the tablet, while others would much rather grab a pencil and write. ✏️📱

Either way, Math and Language Arts skills are being practiced, and they’re learning that they can have a voice in how they learn. 🌱

And of course… we threw in some Fortnite sight-word dances because we KNOW our audience. 😂🎮💃 If dancing like a Fortnite character gets those sight words to stick, WE’RE DOING IT!

Learning doesn’t have to look the same for every child. ❤️
Choice + movement + academics + FUN = our kind of Monday!

🍎🍂 September is almost here, and we are Ready to Grow! 🌱

I’m so excited for everything we have planned this month at Sheri’s Learning Thru Love! ❤️

We’ll be learning through reading, games, writing, small groups, IXL, hands-on activities, outdoor play, and LOTS of fun! September also brings our weekly leaderboard results 🏆, Book Bus Wednesdays 🚌, Fall Photo Day 📸, and of course our Free Fridays! 🎉

Our themes this month will take us from apples & harvest 🍎 → plants & growing 🌱 → weather & signs of fall 🍂 → animals preparing for fall 🐿️ → friendship & growing together ❤️.

I love watching how much learning can happen when kids are given opportunities to play, explore, create, and grow at their own pace. Here’s to a beautiful September with our little learning family! 🍁🧡

Just to be clear—I am not a professional photographer. I’m the owner of Sheri’s Learning Thru Love, and taking pictures is simply something I enjoy as a hobby. I love setting up cute spaces, playing around with my phone, and capturing sweet little moments with my kids. 🥰

Over the years, these pictures have become such a blessing to our parents because they get beautiful memories of their children without the price of a professional photo session. Offering them to other families also helps me earn a little extra while doing something I genuinely enjoy. ❤️

Childhood doesn’t need to be scheduled every minute. Children need time to run, imagine, create, explore, get messy, make up games, and simply play.

Here, we make time for the lessons—but we also make time for childhood. 🌱

We give our kids plenty of time outside with nothing planned for them, because when we step back, their imaginations step in. They create. They problem-solve. They build friendships. They discover who they are.

There will always be another lesson to learn. They only get one childhood. 💛

At Sheri’s Learning Thru Love, we want them to have both—an education and a childhood.

📚🚌 Book Bus Day!

One of my favorite things to see—our older kids naturally helping our littles as we make our way back inside. 🥹❤️ Everyone has their books and everyone is ready to see what’s next!

Reading, responsibility, friendship, and leadership all wrapped into one little walk back from the Book Bus. 🌱📖

✏️ Writing Wednesday! ✏️

Today the kids created name acronyms using words that describe THEM! 💕 Some needed a little help finding the perfect words—and that turned into a great opportunity to learn some new vocabulary along the way!

We practiced:
🌟 Learning new describing words
✏️ Handwriting & spelling
🧠 Thinking about what makes us unique
💬 Talking about the meaning of words
❤️ Building confidence in who we are

There was lots of sounding out, erasing, rewriting, and learning happening! I love when one simple activity works on SO many skills at once. 🥰

Learning doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be meaningful! 🌱

🥇 1st Place — Logan with 456 questions answered!
🥈 2nd Place — Christian with 210 questions answered!
🥉 3rd Place — Elliana with 191 questions answered!

Look at those proud smiles!! 🥰 All three earned a trip to the Treasure Box for their hard work! 🎉

The kids are LOVING our IXL Leaderboard and are already excited to work at school AND at home to see if they can make the Top 3! 📚💻

We’ll check our leaderboard again next Wednesday to see who takes the top spots! 👀🏆

I love seeing a little friendly competition turn into BIG motivation to learn! 🌱❤️

Math Tuesday was BUSY! 🧮✏️💚

So much learning happening at the same time—and that’s exactly how we like it! 🌱

Today our kids worked on math at THEIR level using all kinds of hands-on learning:

🟢 Addition with manipulatives

🔵 Colors & shapes
🟣 Ones, tens & hundreds
✏️ Dry erase practice
🏖️ Math sentences
🧩 Hands-on exploring & problem solving

Different ages. Different skills. Different ways of learning. One classroom full of growing minds! 🌱💕
