This is not a "Flint and Steel". Do not learn to start a fire from the "Survivor" TV show. This is what we like to call a metal match or magnesium fire starter. You want big sparks that burn till they hit the ground, not pretty light ones that go out in the air.

One of the key points to using a fire striker or "Metal Match" is holding it firmly to be able to get a good amount of sparks to start your fire

Just made a short "intro to survival concepts" video for a home school group. After watching it we jumped on a video call with Krista Phelps and her whole class to answer some questions live. What a fun time and great group of smart fun students.
