Today is a VERY special day. Today is the 1 Year Anniversary of IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu's Mu Omega Chapter... OUR CHAPTER! What a wonderful first year this has been. I want to thank every member for accepting the invitation to be a part of something new, which we now see as something so grand and prestigious. This honor society would not be so well-known if its members were anything less than the best. Sending this email to you has allowed me to look back and see everything we have achieved in such a short time. If you are like me, you enjoy data, so let's go through the numbers:
We installed Mu Omega and inducted our first 10 Founding Members on September 3rd, 2020
We found 26 excelling students, out of 100s of candidates, who joined the society as lifetime members on April 23rd, 2021
We have spent nearly 400 hours in helping our fellow members, peers, staff, faculty, and community
We adopted a 2-mile section of State Road 33 near Florida Poly and further strengthened connections to our local community
We have attended 4 food pantry events at Blessings and Hope Food Pantry, helping 100s of families through these financially burdensome times
We planned and executed a virtual game night with our friends 3 time zones over at California Polytechnic State University
We held 2 tutoring events to help our peers in their core classes; our post-tutoring reviews by students we helped were exhilarating
We added 233 connections, followers, and likes between our LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook accounts
Between our board members Riley, Victoria, and Juan (Alumnus), we spent countless hours dedicated to making this honor society into what it is today! Mu Omega, you humble me. Keep up the great work. Here's to another year filled with opportunity, growth, and prosperity to our chapter, its members, and its alumni.
Sincerely,
Jaimie Davis
