And there we have it.

Intent to move special education and OSERS out of the Department of Education to Health and Human Services (HHS).

Office of Civil Rights (OCR) will go to Department of Justice (DOJ), leaving Department of Education (DOE).

This is terrifying but not unexpected.

The system is already severely broken and discriminatory against students with special education needs and behaviors. It is broken. But defunding and taking the very little accountability left, will only make things harder on our most vulnerable students and their families. (IMO)

As a former lifeguard and swim instructor at 15 years old:

Teach your kids how to swim early on, especially in states, like Florida, where there is water everywhere.

ISR is for babies.

If you are scared of the water and don’t know how to swim, please learn.

Fences, pool alarms, are great. They are not fool proof, but a necessity.

Teach to swim. Learn CPR.
