Welcome to GuitART for Music at Mt Pilchuck! Many of our students at Mt Pilchuck Elementary in Lake Stevens, WA, are learning and loving to play the guitar! Our kids are fortunate to have a Principal, Music Education Specialist and classroom teachers who highly value a music program which is integrated into the curriculum. Mt Pilchuck kids are learning guitar, djembe drumming, marimba and soon uku

lele, too! The music program still needs to purchase 15 new guitars. If you too love art and support music education, you can help with our upcoming fundraiser called GuitART! Old, unplayable guitars are currently being transformed into art pieces by accomplished artists and some will be repurposed into functional pieces. We have student artists and artists who are associated with people from our school taking old, unplayable guitars to create something new! These items will be available for auction beginning November 14, 2015. Check back for the online auction link and preview. If you have an art piece of your own to donate to the cause we would love to have it. Send us a private message, please. We are waiting in great anticipation to receive the GuitART pieces the first few days May. We will get pictures up as soon as we receive the up cycled, repurposed and artfully embellished GuitART pieces.
