As we head back to school after the summer break sharing this post again seems apt - UNDERSTANDING SCHOOL ANXIETY

IN THE RESOURCE STORE

SUPPORTING EBSA/SCHOOL AVOIDANCE PACK, a social script and extended activity pack.

Specifically written for the child who is struggling to go to school. 13 page social script which can be personalised to your child. Includes physical feelings common to anxiety. Also comprises social script explainer (how to use), what is school anxiety, what is school refusal, how can I support my child with school refusal/anxiety, how can school help my child as well as recommendations (links/books).
Now included executive function and sensory checklists to identify triggers. Also comprises activities and explainers for what I wish my teacher knew about me, situation brainstorm (for capturing successes) what is tricky about school and child friendly explainer, and challenging negative thoughts.

"As we reflect on the teachings of the Bible, let us remember the responsibility we have to raise our children with love and guidance, just as the Lord loves and guides us. In Proverbs 22:6, we are instructed to 'Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.' This verse reminds us that we are called to lead our children on the right path, teaching them values, and encouraging them to grow in their faith.

As we navigate the joys and challenges of parenting, let us also find inspiration in Matthew 18:3, where Jesus says, 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.' Children have much to teach us about curiosity, innocence, and unconditional love. Let us be open to their lessons as we strive to provide them with the care and guidance they need to flourish. May God bless and protect our children, and may we, as parents and caregivers, find wisdom and strength in His word."
