This announcement and update is being sent to inform everyone that the Laguna Niguel & Lake Forest Schools of Music will be permanently closing at the end of August, 2026.
Over the past 3 years, Dr. Dennis has grown our music school to 300+ students and a team of more than 30 teachers and staff. In that time we are proud to have served families from Laguna Niguel to Lake Forest and all the surrounding South Orange County communities.
During this time, our students performed in over 30 recitals, including studio recitals, special theme recitals, a destination recital, and Concert Performance Team recitals at many local retirement communities. Our amazing teachers provided countless free music playdates in the parks, and we participated in city festivals, school fundraisers, Chamber of Commerce, and special community events. Students performed in talent shows, won competitions and contests, successfully auditioned for honors and community ensembles, completed levels in MTAC Certificate of Merit, and achieved other honors and awards. Our school is proud to have offered and provided many scholarships and various forms of financial assistance to families, and to have worked with students of all ages and abilities, including maintaining a close relationship with the Orange County Regional Center to provide music education to students they support.
Lessons and classes will run through Monday, August 31, 2026. There will be no lessons or classes effective Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Students and families will have the opportunity to continue taking lessons from their current teacher, or another music studio teacher, privately, in-home, if both the student/family and the teacher wish to continue in this manner. In this case, families and teachers would work out ongoing schedules, fees, payments, policies, etc. (the school would no longer be involved in any way).
Student/families wishing to continue in this manner, please email [email protected] and we will inform participating teachers. Please note: we will provide the participating teacher contact information to the requesting family; we will not provide family contact information to teachers. You can also exchange contact information directly during your upcoming final lessons.
We warmly thank you for helping us make our music studios such a joyful, vibrant place to learn music for these past several years. We wish you and your family many blessings, and hope you continue your music learning into the future!
