When I first walked into this Southern California Workplace to photograph it for the owner, it was hard to imagine that this started as a simple four-story core-and-shell but once inside, the transformation is impossible to miss.

Large cutouts into the floor slabs give way to expansive atriums that open views across all four levels, while sculptural stairs pull your eye — and people — through the center of the building.

The result is an engaging workspace that feels open, bright, and connected — redefining what a core-and-shell office can become.

The West Hollywood Aquatic & Recreation Center (ARC) rises from the city with Olympic pools suspended above the street and a sculptural stairway tying park to rooftop.

Scouting the recently completed Orange Coast College Planetarium for HPI Architecture.

A SITE WALK AT CHRIST CATHEDRAL IN GARDEN GROVE, CA
Beautifully re-designed by Johnson Fain and masterfully executed by Snyder Langston, this iconic piece of architecture is truly a place of beauty that will awe and inspire present and future generations.
My personal connection with the Cathedral and this campus goes back almost 30 years. Then Crystal Cathedral, this was my first ever architectural photography project (4x5 view camera, black and white school assignment) which later materialized into one of my largest clients as a professional architectural photographer. Many years later it culminated with our commissioning to photograph all but a few pages of a commemorative book called "A PLACE OF BEAUTY - A JOY FOREVER", a project that spanned almost two years. I have documented this campus in various stages for more than two decades, and I am both humbled and excited to have the opportunity to document its re-birth.
We’ll be back in a couple months when it's completed, I just couldn’t wait to see it 😊
