Art Class Alert...In January 2017 at the Hui, I took a Silk Cut Linoleum class from the Visiting Artist, Robynn Smith. Each time I take a class outside of jewelry, there is always an element that I can pull and use for my jewelry designs. Good times! Probably made about 30 samples of work in class, some samples and students captured in the images you see.

Trying to find my inspiration, but realizing that restfulness is also needed, for a time, in order to recharge and refocus my goals. I think I am nearly there! I will be getting started next week on my brother's rings for his wedding, and I am confident that is the needed boost back into creativity and production. Until then, I found this nugget to share with you! Handmade sterling silver chain with a Jasper stone. UrbanOceans Designs will be busy working on designs to share with you by the beginning of the year, stay tuned.

It has been a creative few months. Hawaii Craftsmen 2013 accepted the attached piece. Monkeypod seeds from the Hui Monkeypod trees, and cast Day Lily Pods also from the Hui grounds. Nature is good to me. This is a show that is on Oahu, but includes the juror's visit to the surrounding islands. There is always a mad rush to get your piece to Oahu within a few days if you are chosen for the exhibtion. I am always relieved that I do jewelry, very light and easy to ship, compared to some of the amazing wood sculptures or objects of larger girth! Cheers.
Mahalo ZForrest! So excited to have some of my jewelry pieces in your new store! I look forward to the opening on April 19th featuring Gwen Arkin. Woot woot.
