My Thursday bunch was at it again yesterday! We changed games (moving from Sonic to Tetris) and worked up an arrangement to play together!

Chancellor has started to come out of his shell and is ready to share what he's been learning at the piano over the past year or so. Enjoy his performance of "Peter, Peter!"

Emily has been working with me for 6 months, but she has some prior piano experience. This performance was her first Student Showcase with me, and she chose to play the "student" portion of the duet "Peter, Peter." We *almost* got her to play the "teacher" part - with her sister! - but Caroline "wanted to perform *by herself*." Enjoy the first of many "Peter, Peter" performances!

Like her sister, Riya has also been with me since she was *this tall.* They surprised me during our session days before the Showcase with "a duet they'd been working on." Ish*ta whipped out a guitar, and Riya sang! Together, we tightened it up, and they closed out the Showcase with this fun rendition of "Vodka Cranberry!"

Ish*ta has been working with me since she was *this tall.* I don't actually have a documented start date for her, but we know it's more than half of her lifetime! While we mainly focus on piano each week, we also explore other musical avenues. For the last several performances, she's wanted to showcase some of her non-piano skills. This go around, she played piano, guitar, and saxophone!

Enjoy Billy Joel's "Vienna" featuring Ish*ta on Sax!

THOR (not Odinson, fellow Marvel fans) has been taking piano lessons for a while, but came to me just a couple of weeks ago. When I mentioned the opportunity to perform at the showcase, he jumped right on it! "I want to play Arabesque!" And this young man absolutely crushed it!

Ella came to me with a little bit of experience, but what is most impressive is her incredible ability, which I can only describe as photographic memory at the piano - she doesn't read sheet music! Her eyes and ears (and my demonstrations) guide her. She learned Beethoven's Fur Elise in just a couple of weeks and wanted to perform it for the Student Showcase. Here is her performance!!

Jane is not a stranger to performing - she's told me all about her dance recitals - but this was her first piano performance! She did a fantastic job with "Peter, Peter."

She comes from a musical family, and I forgot to mention during the showcase how grateful I am that her parents trusted me with being her piano teacher!

I got to work with Blaine today (2 days after this performance). We watched several of his performances over the last couple of years and worked our way to this one. Afterward, he said, "I think that's the best I've played." I agree! Proud of you, dude! Keep making progress!!

Vincent is starting to come out of his shell! He wanted to learn to play Chopsticks and figured it out in a day - and to my surprise - he wanted to perform what he learned at the Student Showcase! I look forward to seeing this young musician continue to grow! Well done, little buddy! Enjoy his performance.
