One of our beloved Master Instructors, Bette Barnett, took a bad fall while teaching in DC and broke her hip and femur. She’s now recovering far from home, facing medical bills, care for her dogs, and many unknowns. This fundraiser is just getting started, and sharing helps so much in the early days. Even if you can’t donate, a quick share can help it reach people who may be able to support. Please consider donating or sharing to help Bette heal and come home. Every bit of support shows her she’s loved and not alone. 💙✨

The most important commitment is to yourself, and this is what this 1.5 ct Tsavorite Garnet, natural diamond, and 14K white gold ring is about for my client. I’m so glad you live your dream ring, Liz, and that it made it safely to you on the east cost!

What a great group of students we had for today’s Metals 1 class, where each student made a sterling silver ring band in their choice of size texture and finish. If you’re interested in trying your hand at silversmithing, we have 2 spots left on March 14 and only 1 spot left March 28. Link in bio ❤️

Save BIG this Small Business Saturday
Here we are: Thanksgiving holiday week. The weather has not matched typical November weather, yet holiday lights are up around Old Town, kids are coming into the store to "Spot the Elf", and the store is stuffed full with local jewelers' work such as new tiny earrings from Michele Throne, new designs by Jess Regner, and Jody just restocked her best-selling Tila bead bracelets. And we have over a half dozen new handmade ornaments and yummy food items (please, please buy the peppermint bark so I don't eat it all!). Oh, we have locally-designed holiday cards with a sense of humor like "Merry Chickmas" (yes, with chickens in sweaters) and "Santa must be so disappointed in us."
I share this because now more than ever it's important to support your local small businesses. Not only do we carry better jewelry than Amazon or big box stores, we care about you as a person! We want to hear your stories about your mom who "is so hard to buy for because she has everything." Or, how you have too much jewelry, so I'll sell you the peppermint bark. ;) We want to connect with you, because you are part of our community. And, in a world of AI and not really knowing what is real anymore, authentic connection is everything to my team and me.
So, we are pulling out all the stops on Saturday and have SO MANY AWESOME THINGS planned, like a mystery box with $100 worth of jewelry and goodies for our first 15 customers! You can view all the specials by going to our website. The newest special is 10% off all jewelry currently in the CoMA exhibit, which ends Sunday (closing reception is a brunch from 11-1). And, on Saturday, you will get $25 off all workshops that are 8 hours or longer (cannot be combined with an other offers, discount automatically taken at checkout): February and full Master class schedules will be released on Friday, so you'll have time to browse before the sale.
Our holiday store hours are as follows:
Friday, November 28: 10:30-5:30
Saturday, November 29: 9:30-5:30
Sunday, November 30: 10:30-3:00 (CoMA closing reception/brunch is from 11:00-1:00)
If you've gotten this far, thank you for being part of the Silver Peak and Lafayette community. You make our school and store really unique, and special.
Have a safe and restful holiday, and hopefully I'll connect with you this weekend!
