Ground has broken on our fall project at Olympic Hills Golf Club—a full renovation of the par three 4th hole as well as the tees that tie in from the 5th. The green will be all new, introducing more angularity, elevation difference, and sectioning that will make the golfer face more questions about their aim spot and club selection, especially on a day-to-day basis. It will also place more of a premium on *where* you hit the green—not just hitting the green in general—leading to a greater variety of outcomes.
Additionally, all tees will be expanded as space allows. The tees on the 4th will also have their elevations adjusted to allow for better sightlines down to the water. The tees on the 5th will be lowered and shifted right with some slight gains (~5-10 yds.) in distance, hopefully making the decision to carry the fairway cross bunker a more questionable one.
The cart path will be redone and moved over as far left as space allows, including a total flipping of sides on the 5th. This not only gives more space to maximize tee area, it gets the path out of sight from the 4th tee shot, instead leaving a nice continuous hillside of Olympic Hills’ famous wispy golden natives.
Should be a fun couple weeks putting this together!
