Next week (10/26-10/30) is Red Ribbon Week! As always, we celebrate with a Spirit Week. Here's a little information about Red Ribbon Week from the National Family Partnership:
Red Ribbon Week is the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention awareness program. Today, millions of people celebrate Red Ribbon Week by wearing red ribbons, participating in community anti-drug and healthy choices events, and pledging to live drug-free and healthy lives. Red Ribbon Week is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stance against drugs and bullying
What Is Red Ribbon Week? It is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. Show your personal commitment to a drug-free lifestyle through the symbol of the Red Ribbon, The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign® is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a drug-free America.
We will be celebrating with a Themed dress up week, (10/26-10/30) The theme this year is, "Make A Difference. Be A Hero. Stay Drug Free."
In the elementary level we focus on making safe and healthy choices, being kind to our bodies, being kind to others and of course saying no to drugs. We encourage staff and students to participate in dressing to the theme.
