Welcome back Ravens. As we start second semester we wanted to remind you that it is a fresh start. If there are habits you want to create or improve on now is the time!

May was a busy month for our Ravens!
-Started the month off strong with teacher appreciation week where teachers received an extra planning period, custom pizzas cooked by some very professional chefs, a sandwich bar provided by donations from parents and families and a wheel of prizes to win! Thank you to all who helped make this week a good one and thank you to our teachers for all you do!
-The first Salish Middle School FBLA Community Bike Ride! 🚲 18 people including 2 officers from Lacey pd, started at Salish and went to Tolmie State Park, a total of 10 miles on their bikes. Thank you to all who participated!
-A successful Day of Champions occurred where more than 400 students in special education from across the district participated in physical events, from an obstacle course to soccer goal-kicking, even beach ball turf bowling. Check out our annual tunnel to welcome them back! So proud of you all!
- The Horticulture class had an on the water experience as they got to do water quality testing, observe different types of large wildlife, use scientific equipment to find and observe microscopic organisms, and learn more about water quality in our local Sound. What an incredible experience
-Ravens Way breakfast where students are nominated by staff for their impact in the classrooms and contributions to our school
-We rounded out May with incredible turnout for our 6th grade information night where families came to learn about what to expect in middle school. Excited for all our future Ravens!
This month was FULL of very impactful and important moments for our Ravens on top of completing state testing. We are so proud of our students, staff and families and how they show up for one another everyday.

At the end of April our AVID students went on a college visit to the University of Washington. Go Huskies!! They were able to learn about college, campus life, living in a dorm, classes you can take (most popular on campus is intro to dinosaurs 🦖), the library, and so much more. They even learned that UW campus is bigger than Disneyland!
Our students were able to see there is no limit to what they are capable of achieving. Thank you to our AVID teacher Ms. Beith for showing kids what is possible.

Attention all Ravens, Staff & Students, tomorrow is Pi Day to which we say Pi-Yay!
Instead of a fry-yay rock you will be looking for a Pi-Yay rock and eating some pie!
These 6 rocks pictured below will be hidden throughout campus, find one tomorrow and bring it to the office to earn some delicious pie!
