Students have been working hard on their xylophone skills. Yay for percussion fun! Here are Ms. Fox's 2nd graders playing a folk song called "Sleigh Ride". Ask you 1st and 2nd graders to sing it for you!
I am the Music/Performing Arts teacher and the Teacher Librarian at Meadows Elementary. Music happens in the "music cave". We sing, dance and act.
This year our music program was cut in half in order for me to fill in on the half-time Teacher Librarian position. My hope is that both will be reinstated as full time positions in the future. It's really just a portable, but some magic sure does happen. On performance days we sometimes call it "The Perkins Center for the Performing Arts". We had our Veterans Assemblies Wednesday, it was the culminating event of three weeks of preparation across all the grades. Lots of love was shared for our Veteran families and friends! Thanks to all the students, staff, presenters and volunteers who contributed. A special thanks to Mrs. Teresa Frisbie Scott for the red poppy project that she did with students.
Mad Lib compositions on our last day of 5th grade music. Pick an instrument, write a song, perform. These amazing young women wrote "Crazy Bananas".
