Today was my last day at Practicum! I gave some Earth day themed gifts to my clients and wrote them a poem;

"I'm a little sad
our time together must end,
but I am also glad
to help you grow
and within you
find a friend.
Life can take you
down many roads
but you can stay resilient like the wildflower grows.
Sprinkle the seeds
on your named heart
and know that I am with you,
even when we are years apart.
Plant in the ground
cover with Earth
give water and sun
and loving words.
This is the best we can do to keep flowers alive...
just like your spirit
may you grow and thrive!
I wish you all the best
as I go
and hope that
Love
Is all you
ever know!"

School Alliance for Mental Health Project: Making Mental Health & Wellness Inclusive for All 04/03/2026

My Capstone: The SAM Project is now available on the UW Research Library database. It has been modified for digital accessibility, includes a way to be translated into braille, and has an MP3 with English and Spanish. The QR codes on the poster and brochure have been reactivated, I heard there was a malfunction. Enjoy!

School Alliance for Mental Health Project: Making Mental Health & Wellness Inclusive for All This capstone project offers an idea for how to make mental health and wellness more inclusive to people with disabilities in school settings, with a focus on teachers and school staff. The proposed “Sam Project App” would be designed with accessibility in mind, and incorporate the unique identi...

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the research for my grad school project! It was fun and inspiring to share my idea with the greater community this past week at the capstone fair! You may review my intervention here. Happy Friday! 😀

We are filled with grief, fear and rage at the killing of people in custody and of bystanders, at abduction of children and parents, the separation of families, and the terror unleashed in our communities by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement over the past few months.

State violence against communities of color, immigrant communities, and indigenous communities is not new, and in fact has deep roots in the U.S., and we also see this escalating in extreme ways right now and felt it an important moment to speak up and be clear that we stand firmly opposed to ICE’s harmful, reckless and discriminatory tactics and actions. All human beings deserve safety and care.

We know that isolation, disconnection, and fragmentation in our culture is all part of what has led us to this moment and that building and strengthening community helps us all heal. We see and are inspired by the beautiful ways communities are showing up for each other to protect each other and provide support and care.

In this spirit, we are joining the national shutdown on Friday and in lieu of our regular operations we will be offering an online space to process the collective grief of this moment in community and in connection with nature. Sign up at https://tinyurl.com/grieve-in-community
