A postpartum doula helps the family as a collective transition to life with a newborn. Rest and bonding with the baby are the most important things for mama once she has given birth. Learning about postpartum before you are in it can really help with expectations. Anything is possible and help can be extremely useful. Every woman deserves to be in the moment when baby comes and to drop all other commitments. My job as a postpartum doula is to nurture mama and help her receive self care, help around the house, run errands, provide resources, help with baby, feeding tips and suggestions, and incorporate older children with this new experience. I am here to make this beautiful yet challenging time as stress-free as possible.

A new mother is totally focused on taking care of her new baby, and that is how it should be. Unfortunately, that often leaves them very little time to take care of themselves.
It is so important that mamas take care of themselves as well. if you are a new mother and you are finding it hard to create space for yourself I invite you to practice self care while your baby is resting. If your not a new mother but know someone that is offer to give them a little space so they can take some time to themselves.
It is crucial to the baby and the mother for the mother to be healthy.
