Alonzo Horton is nicknamed “the grandfather” of downtown San Diego for moving the city’s commercial center from Old Town to today’s Gaslamp Quarter in 1867. Enjoy the city this summer as we celebrate the Library’s postcard collection of vintage San Diego landmarks. Image courtesy of Special Collections & Archives at UC San Diego. This infographic shows the increase in Slack messages sent—a 177% increase over the previous month—all in an effort to help the UC San Diego community transition to online instruction and ensure our students can continue to thrive academically. Next week, we’ll begin to share more on the services available remotely, so please stay tuned and stay safe.

As you may know, the University of California has been out of contract with the publisher Elsevier since January but, so far, the publisher has continued to provide access to new articles via ScienceDirect.
