Surf Diva’s motto, they tell their charges, is that “the best surfer in the water is the one who’s having the most fun.” Most of the teachers are women, but “We do have several male instructors who have learned to teach the Diva method,” Tihanyi says. “And they’re awesome. I call them my Divos. We hired them because they are very patient. They’re teaching for the right reasons. And they’re enthusiastic.”"
