This fall is the centennial of LT's first Homecoming!

To commemorate this we will be offering tours of North Campus (group limit 30) on Friday, September 25 from 3:30-5:00. Please email Patrick Page at [email protected] to reserve a spot.

This logo, created by alum Alyssa Iovinelli (Class of 2023), tells the story of LT's first Homecoming. On the left is the bell tower of the original 1888 building that all LT graduates through 1926 had graduated from. This is the bell tower that they came home to. The bell tower on the right of course is the one we all know and love! The first homecoming was 12 days after the ceremony to break ground for the 1928 addition that built what we now recognize as the public face of LT and that for the first time included spaces to invite the community into the school like the auditorium, Parthenon Frieze Gallery, and the Community Room.

On the tour, learn more fascinating details of the history of LT and the importance of some of its historic spaces!

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our LT Sankofa Community Connection: Coffee & Conversation!

Inspired by the Akan word Sankofa, meaning “go back to the past to bring forth what is useful,” this gathering provided an opportunity for LT staff, families, and community members to connect, share resources, learn about programs and activities, and most importantly, listen and learn from one another.

We’re grateful for the conversations, connections, and ideas shared this morning as we continue working together to make LT an even more inclusive and connected community.

Today, August 27, LT will conduct our annual Violent Critical Incident (VCI) school safety drill with our students and staff during 3rd period. All such safety drills are announced to students and staff in advance. Schools conduct drills like this because planning and discussing how to react in moments of high-stress helps all of us to respond appropriately in the event of a crisis.

🧠💛 We can’t remove every worry from our kids’ lives—but we CAN equip them to handle what comes their way.

When anxiety shows up, our instinct may be to fix it, avoid it, or make the discomfort disappear. But what if helping too much actually keeps the worry cycle going? 👀

Join Dr. Meredith Elkins and anxiety expert Anxiety Expert Lynn Lyons for practical, research-based strategies to help kids face uncertainty, build confidence, and become more resilient.

Because supporting kids’ mental health isn’t about making life worry-free—it’s about helping them discover: “I can handle this.” 💪
