Hey Community!
This week we are smooshing our field trip and service day both into Monday.
We will leave the area a smidge before 10am to go to the Veteran's Day observance at the Kansas National Guard Armory.
Later in the afternoon, we will be back in the area, raking leaves for locals!
Please wish us warmth and prayers for all whom we shall encounter, as well as for the friends, families, and individuals who make our past, present, and future freedoms possible. Last, but most, thanksgiving to God for the privelege to enjoy such freedoms en route to His Glory.

Hey community! We're going to try to get better about posting our Field & Service Days so other families can join us.

Therefore, THIS WEEK: Monday we went to The Powell Pumpkin Patch (and have tons and tons of pics to post soon). We've been doing a more in depth cleaning and planning day on the last Friday of the month, but since the local public school is out this Friday and the first grade heritage studies learned how to fill out an envelope last week, we are going to let people do their service day at home this Friday. We'll be writing letters to soldiers and coming up with ideas for care packages to send. Feel free to add to our collection!
NEXT WEEK: We are swapping Monday and Tuesday next week. It's supposed to be rainy and it happens to be the first Tuesday of the month, which means free admission at the Overland Park Arboretum! It'll be a bit chilly, but not wet and hopefully we will still have some autumn awesomeness to appreciate.

Glimpses into some of our recent M/F Field&Serve Days:

We helped out at the LaCygne Community Garden and they ended up sending us away with some beautiful veggies which we showed the kids how to wash and then use as main ingredients in their lunches all the next week.
Last Monday we went to the Money Museum in KC and then found an exhibit where a journalist is sharing stories of people who have been going through the ReStart program in Kansas City, which inspired us to learn about homelessness and what the Bible teaches us about it, as well as some rudimentary budgeting lessons and a few things like that.

These opportunities are absolutely one of our very favorite parts of Proverbs Christian Academy! 💛

We're having a garage sale in Linn Valley today and tomorrow!
The kids have been practicing counting money and learning about organizing and pricing items.

We're enjoying the crisp leaves, the light summery breeze, and much enthusiasm about lemons squeezed!

Friday: 12-4
Saturday: 9-12
Prices are negotiable.

When you have a little guy that just turned three this month, it is his first time being taught how to hold a pencil or be shown how to do pre-writing lines, the biggest focus right now is attending to a task, and he does SO well -you have to share it right away!

The first week of school has gotten off to a great start! We're figuring stuff out and having a fun time learning and worshipping even if we don't have all our cabinets and are navigating through our own maze of books and curriculum. It sure will be fun to look back on these days!

Proverbschristian.academy is enrolling! Our first day is September 9th! We offer lots of options if you're a homeschool parent that wants more flexibility or just hate teaching certain subjects! We're the place to be at if you're wanting your child to learn life skills as well! Worried about cost? Reach out! We don't want any students or families to miss out for that reason so we have worked up some potential concessions to help!
