🎉 We hope everyone had an amazing first day back! 🎉

The PTO is excited for another great school year! We will be sending home a small newsletter next week with information about some fun things coming up. 👀

📅 The newsletter will include upcoming dates and events—including a coffee truck during school pick-up one day! ☕🚚

It will also include a form for families to fill out and return to school. The form will include information about:

🙋 Volunteering for upcoming events
👕 Student shirt sizes for shirts that will be ordered for all students and paid for by the PTO

We are currently looking for anyone who is available to help with School Picture Day on September 9. Volunteers will help with the flow of students and assist in making sure everyone is picture-ready.

We are loving the submissions for the school shirts. Only a few days left to get those shirt design submissions turned in!

We are doing another call for artists who want to design shirts for next year. Student designs will be voted on at the beginning of the school year by the students. The winning student design will go on the all-school shirts the PTO provides. Any adult designs will go onto an online shopping portal.

The teachers and staff had to get everything out of their rooms (and library) at the end of the past school year to prepare for the construction. They will be able to move back in on Aug 13. We are looking for anyone who wants to volunteer to help with anyone that needs help. It will mostly involve organizing and unboxing things. Kids can come along and help as well. Please reach out if you are able to help and we will get you more info as the date gets closer.

Many students love the garden lessons at school but our school garden is not accessible right now due yo the construction. GROW reached out to let us know of a special party all State Road families are invited to this summer.

We are excited to be able to host a joint State Road and Hintgen Elementary School garden party at the Hintgen garden this summer. Ms. Amy and Ms. Sara will host the event on June 16th from 5 - 6:30 p.m.. There will be guided garden activities and time to explore and connect with community and nature.

We hope you can all attend and enjoy some fun time in nature.

Tomorrow is McSchool night at the Losey Blvd location. We get a percentage of sales made inside at the kiosks and through the app between 4 and 6 pm. Be sure to spread the word!

Some of the State Road students had a fun opportunity this week. Midwest Family Broadcasting (home to 95.7 The Rock, Z93, KQ98, WKTY, WIZM and 94.7 Classic Hits) came to State Road to interview kids to see "what America means to me". About 40 kids ended up participating. The kids all did so well with this unique opportunity. The radio stations will be playing some of these clips as we get closer to America's 250th anniversary. No names or pictures will be used but you may hear some voices you recognize pretty soon!
