Kicking off the school year, Abby has stepped up to curate some amazing picks! She’s selected a wide variety of books, and we hope you’ll take a moment to find something you’ll enjoy. She also specifically highlighted Night Whispers from the Omen of the Stars story arc of Warriors. So, in case you needed some inspiration to start a new adventure, Abby’s got you covered!

As for her favorite activity at the library, she gives a big shout-out to LEGO Club. And what great timing, because LEGO Club will continue to meet on Fridays starting at 3 PM! Stop by to see what other creators have made, take on a LEGO challenge, or freestyle your own builds.

Join us this Friday at our usual story time gathering for a special group of guests—the Kodiak Fire Department! They’ll be reading a story to all of us and have some activity pages for everyone to enjoy. Who knows what other surprises await us? Join us at 10:30 a.m. to enjoy a tale and meet our firefighters!

After Crab Fest, the work isn’t done yet!

30 more boxes of books headed over to Bright Lights Book Project!
That is 1068 # of books going to appreciative readers and NOT going to our landfill or bogging down recycling.
Thanks to Alaska Airlines for the discount to make sending these books manageable, and our Kodiak Alaska Air Cargo team for helping us unload!

(And also, we truly appreciate Threshold Services Inc. for taking all our books that are ready to be recycled all year long!)

Today at the library we hosted the first cooking demo with our new cooking cart. Daisy shows us how to make pancit guisado a tasty Filipino noodle dish.
