And that's a wrap on another amazing school year!

The final bell has rung, the backpacks are headed home, and another incredible chapter is officially in the books...or should we say the yearbooks?

Thank you to our students, families, staff, and community for making 2025–26 such a special year. We've learned, grown, performed, explored, celebrated, and made memories that will last long after the classrooms are cleaned and the hallways are quiet.

We will miss seeing our Bears every day, but we can't wait to hear all about summer adventures when we return in August. Until then...sleep late, read a good book (or many good books), make some memories, and enjoy every minute of your well-deserved break.

Have a great summer, Bears. See you soon!

Today we celebrated our fifth graders as they wrapped up their elementary school years at BMA.

They took their final walk through the halls, greeted by cheers, high fives, and so much love from students and staff. Later, we gathered for our Fifth Grade Celebration, where we recognized their accomplishments, awards, and the impact they have had on our school. There may have been a few tears as students performed "You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen, a beautiful and fitting tribute to this remarkable group.

It's hard to put into words just how special these students are. All year long, staff members throughout the building have said the same thing: this is one of those groups that comes along every once in a while, and you never forget them. We have been continually impressed by their kindness, responsibility, leadership, and the way they care for one another.

As Mrs. Sanford shared tonight, this chapter is ending, but a new one is beginning...and it's full of blank pages waiting to be written. We can't wait to see what comes next for these students. We'll be cheering them on from the sidelines and hoping they stop by to visit every once in a while.

We'd also like to say thank you to the 4th grade families who helped put together a beautiful reception!

Once a Beaumont Bear, always a Beaumont Bear.

One of the most special days of the year happened today...Senior Stroll! We loved welcoming back our graduating seniors (and their families) representing schools across Knox County Schools, including West, L&N, Fulton, Austin-East, Powell, Bearden, William Blount, and more.

There is something so special about seeing our former students return to the halls of BMA and celebrating the role this school played in their journey. The day was filled with smiles, tears, hugs, pictures, and even time to reminisce with some classic elementary fun.

We are so proud of these students and grateful they chose to come back home to BMA one more time. Congratulations, Class of 2026!

And that’s a wrap on Field Day! Our Kindergarten and 1st graders survived the heat today and had a fantastic time finishing out an exciting few days of fun.

Once again, a huge Thank You to Ms. Whitehead and her helpers, including our awesome fifth grade student leaders, for keeping everything organized and running smoothly. Thank you as well to Ms. Simmons and the many parent volunteers who organized concessions to help raise money for next year’s fifth grade trip.

What a great way to celebrate the end of the school year!

Friday was another great day for Field Day with our 2nd and 3rd graders! The chilly morning temperatures didn’t stop anyone from enjoying the water events—a good time was had by all! A special shout out to our amazing fifth grade helpers for keeping everything running smoothly throughout the day.

Next up…Kindergarten and 1st grade on Monday!

The end-of-year fun and craziness continues! Today we kicked off Field Days with our 4th and 5th graders, and it was a day full of energy, teamwork, and fun.

Ms. Whitehead always runs such a tight, organized ship, and today was no different. Thank you to the parents and staff who helped make the day such a success. There’s truly nothing quite like an elementary school Field Day!

2nd and 3rd grade are up tomorrow!

We were so excited to welcome guest reader Jen Marlin, author of this year’s One Book Read City selection, to meet with our second graders today!

She shared about herself, her journey to becoming a writer, and even some of her very first writing from her elementary school days. Students also had the special opportunity to have their copies of Wind Riders: Search for the Scarlet Macaw signed by the author herself.

What a memorable experience for our young readers and writers!

Today was a BIG day at BMA...the first performances of our 4th and 5th grade spring musical, The Little Mermaid, Jr.!

These students have been working for months to prepare, and today they finally got to share their hard work with the very best audiences: our students and staff. And WOW…this show did not disappoint. The songs, costumes, sets, special effects, and performances were absolutely incredible!

This is one of the biggest productions we’ve ever taken on, and we are beyond impressed with what our students accomplished. A huge Thank You to Ms. Taylor and all of her helpers for the countless hours, hard work, creativity, and dedication that brought this production to life.

We cannot wait for our three public performances this weekend. These students are ready to shine under the sea!

A special Thank You to the BMA Foundation for sponsoring our end-of-year staff murder mystery party! We had a great time going back to the ’80s and solving the mystery together. Spoiler: Lyndi Lauper (aka Ms. Williams) did it!

Thank you to the Foundation for providing dinner and to Mrs. Hayley Hunter for graciously letting us use her neighborhood clubhouse for the event.
