We are excited for a fun-filled week at Maury Middle School! Please review the announcements, activities, spirit days, and important dates below.
Important Announcements
A Days: Tuesday and Thursday
B Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Monday, Sept 14--Yearbook will meet until 4:30 PM. Pick up in car rider line.
Wednesday, Sept. 16th--8th grade is going to the Future Ready Expo. Please turn in your permission slip to your home room teacher if you have not already done so.
Candy sales are going strong. A little over half of the boxes are sold. It's not too late to turn in your permission slip to sell. Look for those Hornet's they are buzzing around in the boxes 4 have been found. 12 more to be found! Sell at least 5 boxes to get to go on the field trip. There are many caramel boxes here on campus if you would like your child to come home with a full caramel box let their teacher know.
Club News
MMS STEAM Club will begin Sept. 24. If you are interested, please pick up permission forms during lunch in the cafeteria. We will meet one Thursday a month from 3:15-4:30. At STEAM we do fun things like exploding watermelons, dissecting frogs, and food sciences? Come join us for some great activities! Students cannot stay for the meeting unless the permission form and money are turned in before 9/24.
The Chess Club will begin on September 24th. Permission slips are in the “It’s Happening Here” pockets on the wall in the cafeteria.
Sports & Activities
Jefferson County Middle School Baseball Tryouts
Baseball tryouts for middle school are September 25 at 5:30 PM or September 26 at 10:00 AM. Choose one day to attend tryouts, not both. Weather permitting, subject to change. Wear baseball attire and bring all your gear. Tryouts are at JCHS. They are CLOSED tryouts. NO spectators.

Football

Ticket Information
Volleyball and football tickets: $5.00 per person
Children ages 6 and under: Free
Student tickets: $1.00
Sold at lunch on the day of a home game
Limit of one ticket per student
Parking reminder: Parking inside the fence at home football games is reserved for individuals with disabilities. Please observe all posted signs.

Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s and enjoy themed games, crafts, and a selfie station. This free event will be fun for the whole family, so come on out and go back in time!
