This is 100% true. It's also why you don't do karotyping in college intro to biology classes anymore.

In the newest World of Warcraft expansion, The War Within, we are introduced to a new playable race, the Earthen, who are made of stone and decorate themselves with gems and wire. I stopped in the barber shop because I wanted to change one my demons to a new appearance I had just unlocked farming Tomb of Sargeras, and I spoke to the NPC and got the chance to ask about their hair wires. The response was so heartening, and I think the key bit of joy it gave me was starting with "Certain cosmetic features like gender". Yes. It is, in fact, a cosmetic feature.

A great quote Smart Mark used on tonight's Weekly Skews podcast (which I listen to religiously because Trey is from Celina and sound like My People and I'm fu***ng homesick for my people). He did add at the end that it turns out the robber barons might be just as bad, and there's some doubt that capitalism's cruelty EVER sleeps or its cupidity every satiated.

image description: black and white meme containing a circular black and white head shot of the author CS Lewis, who was a balding white man. The text of the quote is in a serif font and reads:

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”

Is it rainbow capitalism? Sure. But damn, I'm super happy that this "Colorful Beach Chair" toy was available at the Trading Post (in game currency) starting June 1st. Some for-real out loud representation in my favorite game.
