Proverbs 12:10 "A righteous man cares for the life of his animal."
'Do you give the horse his might? Do you clothe his neck with a mane? Do you make him leap like the locust?' Proverbs 39:19-20 ....thank you Lord for your creative design of the HORSE!
thinking of a friend that is saying goodbye to a good friend, her horse. It's a blessing to be able to honor our pets with dignity when it is time to stop their suffering, but it doesn't make it easy.
ATTENTION HORSE OWNERS: VACCINATION is the only prevention for Rabies....there is NO treatment and there is no peace of mind other than vaccination. Had a string of neurologic horses lately---Rabies is always on the list until ruled on after death! Contact our veterinarian and schedule your horse to be vaccinated!
saw a horse for a "snotty nose" last night...poor guy, it was really saliva! The horse had been choked ALL DAY! Owners, watch your horses carefully...don't just feed them and rush off to work in the morning.
what do you love most about the horse?
HORSE OWNERS: If your horse cuts himself to the point of needing stitched up....don't put any goop, purple spray, pine tar, fura-nothing or 'wonder dirty' in it....P-L-E-A-S-E! If you must, clean with the wound with a mild dish soap, like Ivory liquid and run a cold water hose over it. Thanks! Maybe I can finish cleaning the goop out of my clippers today and the purple will soon wear off my hands ;)
Just returned from a sad case. Please do not hesitate to call your veterinarian if you are concerned for your horse, it could save his life! Some things are impossible to save if you wait too long for treatment.
Proverbs 12:10
foals, foals and more foals!! Be ready for your new arrivals with betadine to dip umbilicus and enemas too! Be smart: Have your newborn foals' blood IgG level checked at 16-20 hours old to insure it got enough colostrum...if you wait until your foal is weak or down, they are nearly impossible to turn around. Gotta love babies!!!!! :)
