Heritage High School Afjrotc Tn-791

Ms Wanda DeWaard, Heritage High School Graduation Coach, presented a "Shelter 101" lesson along with other basic survival skills training to our Heritage AFJROTC cadets as part of our 'Military Skills' Monday (MIL SKILLS) on 26 October 2020.

Heritage Air Force JROTC Cadets demonstrate their ability to properly and proudly wear the same blue uniform worn by over 700,000 members of the U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserves.

On 2 November 2020, Heritage AFJROTC third-year (AS-3) cadets successfully launched their first model rocket as part of their "Exploring Space: The High Frontier" STEM Curriculum. Cadets are required to successfully build, launch, and recover three rockets to earn their AFJROTC Model Rocketry Badge. Learning objectives for this Exploring Space lesson included: aerospace awareness, aviation weather, collaboration, critical thinking, launch planning and safety procedures, problem solving, and rocket engineering/propulsion/recovery system fundamentals.

On 2 November 2020, Heritage AFJROTC first-year (AS-1) cadets built WW II Lego planes as part of their "Airpower in World War II" Aviation History Curriculum. Cadets from all three 1st year flights were grouped together into project build teams representing the countries of Britain, Germany, Japan, and the United States. Each team was responsible for reading detailed instructions, determining critical part requirements, and working together to build replicas of four classic WW II aircraft: Britain's Hawker Hurricane MK-1, Germany's Messerschmitt BF-109 F-4 Trop, Japan's Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero, and the United States' Vought F-4U Corsair. Learning objectives for this aviation history lesson included: aviation awareness, collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, and reading/comprehension.

We recently conducted a joint color guard with our brethren TN-793 from William Blount. Cadets Beeson, Buckey, Carman, and salton participated to symbolize unity in our cross town rivalry.

This was an amazing day! Our AFJROTC(TN-791st) and Williams Blount’s (TN-793rd). We all came out to Vienna Coffee house to plan some great upcoming events for both units! We were glad to see everyone there and we can’t wait for more days like these! 💙❤️

We’d like to give a big thanks to Ssgt Corbitt and Airman Cox for coming and doing a few exercises with them. They had a great time! Hopefully we see them back in the classroom! 👊🏼❤️💙

Last but, not least on this eventful Friday we had our PT party! Congratulating all of our cadets for working so very hard during their Physical training. Congratulations to all the ones that were here and also to the ones that weren’t able to show up! Keep pushing! ❤️💙 Thank You cadet Barton for hosting such a wonderful party!

This is a young woman that we don’t see often, that’s because she is the young lady behind the camera! Without her we wouldn’t capture all the great moments that we have here in the squadron. She has helped build our Public Affairs up in so many great ways! She came to us today and gave out squadron a photo album of all the things we have done/accomplished over the fall semester, we can’t wait to add more as we go into our spring semester. Thank you Cadet Cooper and her public affairs team for all your hard work! ❤️💙
