Amazing Spotlight Series Workshop this Monday at 2:00 in The Media Center (005 Comm)! We’ll sit down with WUTK alum and Voice of the Vols Mike Keith! He’ll talk all about his career, how he is redefining The Vol Network’s programming, and provide tips for working in sports media.

The Spotlight Workshop Series is open to all UT students and members of the UT community. We expect high attendance for this event so try to get there early.

Hear from Media Center students as they share summer internship highlights and insights in this 2-3 p.m. Aug. 24 Spotlight Series Workshop.

The panel will feature Luke Attal , who attended the CNN Academy, Lauren Holladay , who enjoyed an internship at the Richmond Times Dispatch through the Dow Jones program, SOPHIE STARKEY , who interned at WBIR, Jayden Randolph , who became an official intern photographer for the Cape Cod Baseball League, and Olivia Lee, who interned for Elizabeth MacDonald’s The Evening Edit show on Fox Business News in New York City.

The Spotlight Workshop Series is open to all UT students and members of the UT community.

Applications are open for the 2026-2027 Williams Reporting Cohort. This year the program, led by School of Journalism & Media Professor Shannon Scovel, will create longform journalism around the topic of athletic eligibility. Students will explore how changes in eligibility policy impact athletes, coaches and organizations across the high school and collegiate levels. Students selected for the program will be provided a stipend, mentorship, professional development opportunities, and additional funding and support for their reporting. Applications are due Aug. 26.
