The National Institute for Computational Sciences (NICS) is funded by the National Science Foundation and managed by the University of Tennessee. NICS manages Beacon, an advanced computing system, and is a project of the Joint Institute for Computational Sciences, a partnership between the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
