Mended Mentors

Almost every couple we work with, either one or both of the people have "IA". It is usually deep rooted and hard to correct, but can also develop as a reaction to the one withholding. But it causes people to live in sad, unfulfulling marriages. All too often, people develop addictions to help them cope with IA. Several times, we have worked with only the addict, and the spouse refuses to do any work. Either it is too painful, or it's "not their problem." We watch as that spouse keeps riding the "crazy train" even when the addict is progressing well. If you don't deal with your stuff, it doesn't go away. It keeps giving you tickets to ride the crazy train, over and over and over.
