This Winter, we will be launching our Green Room Workshops! 🤩 The Green Room is a full-day, hands-on experience, with lessons tailored for acting and design. These classes are built for artists ages 7-17, where students will learn performance and design techniques, using a short play as inspiration. 🎭

Our Winter Green Room Workshop will take place Saturday, January 30, 2027 at The Bird & The Book from 930-330pm. Students will need to wear comfy clothes and bring a water bottle - box lunches will be provided by Southland Books & Cafe. Please let us know if your artists have dietary restrictions - Southland Cafe can make many dietary accommodations! And for the grownups, be sure to pop into the cafe for yummy homemade brunch and take a stroll through the oldest and largest bookstore in Blount Co. while your kids are in class! 🍳📚

This workshop is very affordable at $75 (friends and family discount available!), all materials are included! 🥰

We are so excited to present our first (of hopefully many) new play read throughs! Join us in two weeks to highlight local playwright Holly Brennan in her new play, “Somewhere in the Forest” 🌲✨

Do you have an acting itch? We will be looking for volunteers from the audience to read aloud for the various roles!

Participation is not required to attend the event - you are also welcome to sit back and listen to all the magic ✨

Somewhere in the Forest: New Play Read Through

WHAT: A sit-down read-through of a script for a new play written by a local playwright. Come listen to a fascinating new story, or volunteer to read aloud for a role in the play!

WHEN: Saturday August 15th @ 1:30 PM (Doors open at 1:00 PM)

WHERE: Vienna Coffee House (212 S College St, Maryville, TN 37804)

COST: Free to attend and free to participate in the read through! Donations welcome 🫶🏻
