🚨 We cannot keep talking about mental health without also talking about money.

This weekend we hosted a Financial & Mental Wellness Awareness event and it furthered affirmed an important reality: student-athletes are carrying more than practice schedules, games, grades, and expectations.
They are carrying pressure.
Pressure to perform. Pressure to win. Pressure to make their families proud. Pressure to earn scholarships. Pressure to figure out their future before they’ve fully learned who they are.
And here’s the part we don’t talk about enough:
Financial stress is emotional stress.
Lack of financial education creates anxiety.
Unclear family money conversations create pressure.
The fear of “not making it” can quietly become a mental health burden.
This is why I continue to work at the intersection of financial education and mental wellness.
Because young people don’t just need motivation.
They need tools.
They need language.
They need trusted adults.
They need safe spaces to talk about money, pressure, purpose, and identity.
Student-athletes are not machines.
They are young people navigating real life in real time.
If we want healthier students, stronger families, and more prepared communities, we must teach more than the game.
We must teach life.
Money. Mindset. Mental Wellness.
That’s the conversation. Join us!
